About the Badging Cohort

The UMD Digital Accessibility Badging Cohort began during the pandemic as way to build connections with our campus community while we many of us worked remotely. The primary goal of this initiative is to increase awareness of digital accessibility best practices, and to get people to implement those practices in their daily work. The way achieve this goal is through community conversations around the Digital Accessibility Badging Program. All of the Digital Accessibility courses are conducted online via Canvas, so you can take the courses anytime. At UMD we are utilizing a cohort model for these courses, which allows people to work through the courses together while providing support and motivation for other members.

The first cohort met throughout the 2020-2021 school year, and new cohort will be starting in June 2022. If you participated in the prior cohort, we encourage you to stay engaged in this community.

Participating in our cohort is a great way to have a real, positive impact on those around you. It’s also a great way to work toward Goal 2 of UMD’s strategic plan. We are here to help one another succeed and we’d love for you to join us.
